Imagica Library

Hi, I am Atishay Jain, a 13-year-old student at Redmond Middle School. During the pandemic, when libraries were closed, I read many books purchased from Amazon and a local half-price bookstore. After reading them once or twice, they just sat on my bookshelf. I realized that - Imagination is worth sharing. A place where anything can happen. A book is a gateway to imagination, so let’s share it with our community.

This inspired me to create a sharing library called IMAGICA, combining the words “Imagine” and “Magic,” to share my collection of books with others. This way, people who love to read or were unable to access books due to library closures can take and share books, allowing everyone to discover new stories.

As Dr. Seuss said - The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.

I built IMAGICA with the help of my 70-year-old friend Steve and baby sister Anahita, who helped paint it.

People around the world read books for various reasons, whether for education, entertainment, or, like me, as a way to escape reality and explore new worlds, times, and identities.

Books are not just collections of words; they are portals to different realities. Unfortunately, not everyone has access to these gateways to the imagination. These opportunities should be available to everyone, regardless of their background.

Let’s all contribute by sharing or donating books to our nearest little library.
